We're here, having a lovely time catching up with old friends, eating, drinking and laughing. Not much time for online stuff., I suspect when we head to the beach in a couple of days, that will change. In the meantime, here are a couple of pics.
Clear Creek- can you hear the burbling water? It was so beautiful and restful. And everything is still green. Amazing.
Best high school friends Jane, Kris and I have never lost touch, but this is the first time we'd seen Karla (on the right) since 1970. It was wonderful! We couldn't corral a stranger to take our pic, so we did the best we could with a phone.
Jane has a lovely touch with decorations!
Jane painted the snowman (I have the blue version), and I carved the Santas in the early 90's. It was nice to see them again.

More praise for The Nut Hut
I'm overwhelmed. Seriously.
A sweeter, less caustic version of One Flew Over the
Cuckoo’s Nest, the Nut Hut by Kathleen Taylor is the story of
attendant Becky Decker’s first week in a mental institution
during the early 1970’s. Still, the story retains a bite. The
prose is velvety smooth, and the sharp characterizations
make for a fast, unputdownable read. I recommend it highly,
if only to remind those of us who are not impaired how
blessed we really are.

Thursday Tab- Victoria, Spanish Dolls from 1979
I'm heading out again, for fun this time. So there won't be a paper doll next Thursday. To make up for that, here's a larger set. I don't know anything about these except that they were published in 1979, probably in Barcelona. My guess is that they were magazine pages, but that's just a guess.

Merry Merry to you All!
Thank each and every one of you for putting up with my rambling and nonsense this year. Somehow, I didn't even notice when the total blog hits went over 750k... over three-quarter of a million hits... I'm still in shock.
I hope everyone has a calm and beautiful day, whether you celebrate or not.
I'll leave you all with some pretty pics, and one reminder that December in South Dakota is chilly...

I'm about to hyperventilate
I finished the first draft of this book in January, 2001. Today, it's officially on sale at Amazon, and at Barnes & Noble. Other eBook platform editions will be uploaded right after the first of the year.
I am so excited!!!!!!!
If your Kindle download came with no cover illustration, go to your Amazon account, click on Kindle, Click on Manage Device, Click on Purchases, and then to the right of The Nut Hut, click on Deliver To whichever device. The cover will download (the first few purchases didn't get the cover). It won't cost more, it's just an update.
In and out...
The MOBI file for The Nut Hut arrived, so most of my time has been taken up with proofing so it can be uploaded for sale.
I gotta say that this never, ever, gets old. (Ignore the rectangle- it's a glitch that will be removed.)
But I did take time over the weekend to make Santa Cookies with the Grandgirls. We couldn't find Nutter Butter cookies, but these oval ones worked just as well.
Frog Girl had the brilliant notion of standing the cookies upright between the lines on my cake rack so that the almond bark could set without getting squished. I recommend that method highly. And the cookies taste pretty good too.
We haven't tried these yet, and this photo was taken from the site, I hope we get a chance to make Snowflake Ballerinas too!
In the evening, I spend a couple of hours of TV time working on the Santa Tree Needlepoint. If I say so myself, it's going to be pretty cool.
