Beautiful Utah

Young Master E woke up during our drive through Utah, and asked, "Are we in the Grand Canyon?". It was a reasonable question.

All of these were taken from a moving car. Please ignore the occasional window reflection.

Vegas to St George

I saw some absolutely amazing scenery between Camarillo and home. We were on the road for 3 days, and though we didn't stop often, I did manage to get a few good shots from the moving car.

 The Mojave. I've never driven through it before, and it's pretty amazing.
Also, hot. I think it was 105 or thereabouts, all day.

 I wasn't able to get a good shot of the Joshua Tree forests, but they're amazing- part cactus, part tree, all pokey and stark.

Thursday Tab- Golden Ben-Hur, 1959

Not exactly a paper doll, in our usual sense of the term, but cool nonetheless. I assume it was a movie tie-in.

Easy Peasy Very Quick Sticky Buns

It's not my recipe, but man, it's good. My only issue is that I tried to use two full tubes of large flaky biscuits in a single batch, and they came out a tad doughy in the center (remedied by 10 seconds in the microwave). Next time, I'll divide them out (or bake a few biscuits plain).

Also, I really really hate popping those tubes. They make me jump every time.

I'm back home, but the older I get, the longer it takes me to recoup after a trip... especially an 1,800 mile car trip. It was wonderful, and I saw some amazing scenery, and I have some great pics, which I will post. Tomorrow, I hope.

Man, we've been busy. I haven't been near a computer for 2 days, and we're hitting the road tomorrow (driving back to South Dakota, through Las Vegas, Utah, and Wyoming). I should get some cool desert pics on the way. I've never seen the Mojave from ground level, so it ought to be fascinating. And hot.
