Thursday Tab- Lowe Mary #1823
I think there must have been another version of this set with more clothes because there is nothing for poor Mary to wear with her two skirts. She does, however, have lots of shoes (none of which look like they'll actually stay on the doll).
If I never thanked you properly for these wonderful paper dolls, let me do so right now. I printed out about a half dozen of them to take with me when visiting my 3 grand-daughters in WV when their new brother was born and we had the best time cutting, dressing and playing. I don't think those are skirts, I think the one with squares goes over the green bathing suit or sunsuit and the yellow and pink one is actually an apron. What do you think?
Maybe the skirts are actually meant to be aprons? This could explain the surprising lack of tops. And while we're on the topic, my Nana used to cut out "Betsy McCall" paper dolls for me each month from McCall's Magazine. She'd glue them to thin cardboard first, so they'd have some chance of survival...I used to love 'em!
Thank you once again Miss Kathleen! Mary is lovely...
ReplyDeleteBest Regards, Jan H (MA)
