More Batik- And a Quilt Block, Part 2
As I mentioned yesterday, no matter how careful I am with my seam allowances, my blocks always come out a little smaller than they should. If you're going to try this block, please make a sample first to know the final size, before cutting up a lot of fabric. Part 1 Assembly here.
I do love how these came out.

6 more blocks to finish.
You can make blocks with the trimmed fabric from the Contrast square. I'll use these in another project. (They can be arranged in a lot of ways- I don't know how I'll lay them out eventually).

More Batik, and a Block Pattern, Part #1
Caveat: If you're going to make these blocks, make one first, before you cut a bunch of fabric. No matter how careful I am, my blocks almost always come out a little smaller than I expect them to. Please assemble a sample first, just to make sure it's the size you need.
I have always loved peach and rust. I can't wear either but I love them.
I couldn't resist this half-yard bundle on eBay.
After putting together blocks with both black and white points from each of the 6 fabrics, I decided they needed *something more*. The center blocks are 9" square (approx).
So I did some corner playing.
I love this
I will have 16 big blocks (12", approx), enough for an entire lap quilt top, when I finish.
Here is the center block assembly (1/4" seam allowances throughout). I'll post the corners tomorrow.
Click on the image to enlarge, and then download. Otherwise you'll just get the thumbnail.
