Michigan Monday

I don't have to teach until Wednesday, so we have a few days here to rest and relax and catch up with relatives. It's been cool and lovely (unlike last year), though it's raining and booming this morning.

You may not see the horizon here, but Michigan sunrises are just as pretty as South Dakota ones.

Front yards come big and beautiful. (Yes, they have a riding mower).

I'm making progress on Hitchhiker #2.

Jayne's peppers are beautiful.

Jayne's whole garden is beautiful. And huge. And amazing.

This salsa shot was taken 20 minutes after the previous two- we're talking fresh.

This was taken a couple of hours later: Sausage Stuffed Grilled Jalapenos. 1lb sausage browned and drained, 8 ozs cream cheese, 8 ozs shredded cheddar cheese. Fill halved and seeded jalapenos. Bake or grill until the peppers are soft and the cheese melty.

The picture doesn't do them justice- they were amazing!

And just in case you think cruise ships have a lock on The Best Dessert Ever... I present Michigan Blueberry Crisp... for breakfast...
