I can't make out the copyright on this, but it looks to be about 1945 or so. The book came with actual ribbons to affix to the dolls' hair, though I don't see how that could be done. The artwork, by Betty Campbell, who is one of my favorites, is absolutely gorgeous on this set (though I am finding these pubescent girls with their bright red lips and smoky eye makeup, just a little unsettling).

Those are really nice. You are right about the artwork. I like them best of any you have had for a while. I wish I had underwear like theirs. Maybe not the ruffley panties, as I am rurrley enough already, but all the rest.
