Knitting- mostly doll stuff, but actual knitting

Bedstemor, and anyone else who is interested: the Knit and Crochet Accessories for 18" Dolls booklet (it's just a little one, with no color pictures) with the pattern for the knit cardigan and the Nordic Sweater (and lots of other fun knit and crochet things) is available from Fancywork and Fashion (http://www.fancyworkandfashion.com/ ) . The designer has lots of very cool patterns (sewing, and another book with knitting patterns) for 18" dolls.

For the sewers out there, I found a site with tons of great doll-size notions and accessories (little separating zippers, buckles, overall clasps, sunglasses, shoes): http://www.tlcdoll.com/textdoc/sewa1.html . I sense a large order coming on.

For everyone: I have not been able to find mini sweater clasps for the little Nordic Sweater. I've searched The Interwebs with every variation of mini and clasp and sweater and doll, that I can think of and have come up with nothing. Anyone have any leads?

I started the cabled cardigan doll sweater (pattern from Berroco, link in yesterday's post). I had a hard time at first, mostly because the chart was so damn small. I finally enlarged it, and am now going great guns. This is going to be a very pretty sweater. I'm using natural green Fox Fiber cotton (the green will be pretty pale, and won't show until I finish and boil the sweater, which I may not do. It might just stay oatmeal colored). This one is worked on size 5 needles but it's not going to be too bulky.

And remember these? We spent a marathon evening, watching 4 episodes of Season 4 Lost last night (I still have no idea what in the hell is going on, but it surely is entertaining), and I knew right away that I was not going to be able to concentrate on cables and Hurley in a high speed chase at the same time, so I dug out the Twisted Fiber Arts Leftover Mitered Square socks and worked on them instead. I'm done with the cuff and instep, and now have to do the soles, heels, toes, and ribbings. These are going to be totally gorgeous socks.

I googled doll sweater findings and came up with the following. Not sure exactly what you are looking for but it might be there. Also look up Windsor Buttons in Boston. When I was there they seemed to have a little bit of everything.

Oh, those Twisted socks!

I tried Googling fancy hooks and eyes and found a number of things that looked promising; some are pricier than you'd want, but they make fancy hooks and eyes for jewelry (and occasionally sewing) and some of them look a lot like sweater clasps, but the size is more appropriate to the 18" doll. My full-size Norwegian sweater clasps that I just bought really ARE just fancy pewter hooks and eyes, that's why I thought of it!

Oh! I was just thinking about what to do with some of my leftovers, and this reminds me...teeny-tiny mitred squares. Yes. Definitely.
