Thursday Tab- Saalfield Circus Paper Dolls, 1952

I know that Merrill is supposed to be the epitome of paper doll publishers, and I'm taking nothing away from the beauty of their dolls or clothes, but for my money, Saalfield had the more gorgeous sets. Here's a prime example. However, Happy the Clown might give me nightmares...

I also prefer Saalfield - and as a child I remember them as being nicer to play with. The girl on the 2nd page is lovely.

There seems to be two pages missing - the fantastic peacock dress and the snake charmer...
