Get ready to cover your ears

We took a little day trip yesterday, to Sioux Falls. We needed to make a Sam's Club run, and I wanted to check out the desktop towers at Best Buy. Those with a gift for remembering trivia may recall that my 7-year-old desktop died months ago, and I've been working at the dining room table, on the laptop ever since. The Hub hinted mightily that he might like to use the table for, you know, like, eating, again, and maybe it was time for me to move back up to my office.

He was right, of course. I much prefer to work up there, with my comfy chair, with the printer already attached to the computer, and without everyone wandering around me as I try to work. I just hate setting up new computers. Never once, in all of my computing years, has installing and adjusting programs on a new computer been an easy process. I knew that I had to buy a new tower (my old monitor is fine), and I knew I'd put it off as long as I could, and therefore bowed to the inevitable.

I suspect this new computer will be no different than any other in my history, despite blazing speed and a hard drive that is bigger than I will ever need. So don't be surprised if you hear many bad words floating up from the Prairie.

In the meantime, we had our first Knitting Group of the season on Friday. It was a smaller gathering than usual (the day was beautiful, so many worked in their gardens, others had new jobs that didn't allow for Friday afternoons off- silly jobs). As always, it was wonderful to see everyone.
I took these with my phone- sorry for the low quality. Here's R-L Pat, Karen, Betty, and LaRhetta.

R-L: Karen, Betty (the Mother of the group, as it were), LaRhetta, Mary, and Jo.

 Roberta and Jean
Pat and Esther, wearing her Purple Ribbon sweater

Okay, I've put it off as long as I can. I guess I'd better go clean off my desk and get to it.

(Update, 2 hours later: okay, I'm on the new computer. So far, all is well, and setup was easy, which means I am keeping a weather eye to the sky...)

Good luck with the new computer! I too am adjusting to a new one... can't wait to be comforable again with the keyboard and the new software (and with restoring all that is missing!).

Ha, that's funny! Blazing speed (for the next week or two) and a hard drive bigger than you will ever need?! Puhleez. No such thing. Now you can start over with your cd collection changing them from wma's to mp3's.
