I used to sew all the time. I sewed my clothes in high school. I sewed clothes for my boys when they were little. I made dolls for every little girl I knew, and did a lot of sewing in my freelance magazine designing years.
Lately, it takes a major effort to get the sewing machine out. But I did it for Curves, which is having a quilt raffle, with the proceeds to go to Relay For Life. We were given a quilt square pattern and asked to make squares with purple fabrics (I choose wrongly- the butterflies are too big, but they'll have to do). Coreen will assemble the quilt, and then tickets will be sold for a drawing. The pattern is interesting, a Pinwheel block sewn in a handy assembly-line manner that mostly involves cutting 2-14 1/4" squares and drawing lots of lines. I misread the instructions and made double the number of squares (the pattern makes 2, I did 4).
My points aren't perfect, but I'm pretty pleased all the same. I'll post updates as the quilt progresses.

Oh Kathleen, I think that quilt square looks great and the butterflies aren't too big at all. Nice job--thanks for the pattern too.
