Savory Sock Yarn

I've raved about yarns from Decadent Fibers (link in Stash Enhancers) many times here. I was thrilled to find out that they're adding a superwash sock yarn (90% merino, 10% nylon, fingering weight, 400 yds) to their line of wonderful hand-dyed yarns. The yarn will be available soon, and just to whet your appetite, here are a couple of previews of this soft and beautiful yarn.

The sagey greens are gorgeous- I'm using this yarn for a large project that I can't talk about yet (hint: it's not socks) and am excited to get started on it. I think this yarn will be perfect for The Project, and the softly mottled sages will play well with the pattern I have in mind.

I'm going to knit socks for myself with the mottled teal shades. I don't know which pattern yet, but I'm ordering Cookie A's sock book, and I suspect this yarn will work well for those intricate and lovely patterns.

I have another skein of Savory Sock yarn (reds/oranges), with which I will design an exclusive pattern for the Decadent Fiber Gals. Watch here (and on their website) for news.

And I finished one of the pinkish Christmas socks for size 3-4 shoe. I do love my simple texture pattern (Rnd 1: YO, K 2 tog* rep, Rnds 2-5: K). It looks good with just about any yarn.

On the glasses front- I am sorry to say that I reluctantly passed on the rhinestones and cat eyes in favor of plain copper frames. I wanted plain copper frames last time I chose new glasses but was surprised to find, when they arrived, that they were actually purple (that's what happens when you choose frames after having your pupils dilated). I made doubly sure of the color this time around.

New Glasses are such a commitment to a Look! Too bad about the rhinestones. That sort of thing is best for a the spare pair, I think.

My visa curses you for posting that loveliness! I, on the other hand, am quite pleased... go figure!
